People in poverty face challenges virtually unknown to those in middle class or wealth – challenges from both obvious and hidden sources. If you work with people in poverty, some understanding of how different their world is from yours will be invaluable. A Framework for Understanding Poverty Training Seminar is based on the book by Ruby K. Payne, Ph.D, A Framework for Understanding Poverty.
This training gives educators powerful insights and strategies when dealing with students from lower socio-economic backgrounds and is designed for audiences of both primary and secondary-level educators. Schools may also choose to invite community partners involved with students and families.
